FAMILY COMMUNICATIONS
When a loved one is in the hosptial, there are many people interested in the patient's condition. It is difficult for each family member and friend to obtain information about their loved one. The doctors and nurses have multiple responsibilities and tasks they need to attend to throughout the day. There are also strict confidentiality issues that must be followed. When appropriate and possible, it is recommended that one person be appointed as the spokesperson for the family. This person would be designated by the rest of the family to phone and/or seek condition information.s The patient must agree to the family communication plan.
PARKING
Parking is free at St. Clare Medical Center. Parking is available in front of the hospital for patients, families and visitors. Emergency and Outpatient Services parking is located at the south end of the hospital. Oncology parking is available in the north parking lot with specific parking places marked. Dialysis parking is located at the southeast corner of the hospital.
VISITING HOURS
Visiting hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Specialty areas may have varying hours. Please check with your nurse for specific hours on your unit.
CAFETERIA
The cafeteria is located on the first floor of the hospital and is open for visitors and staff from 6 to 9:30 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for dinner.
Vending machines are located in the cafeteria, Emergency Services and on the second floor.
PUBLIC TELEPHONES
Pay telephones are available in the Emergency/Outpatient waiting area.
INFORMATION DESK
The Information Desk is operated from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday by Volunteer Services. Saturday and Sunday hours vary. There may be an exception to the above posted hours as our information desk personnel are volunteers. If the desk is not manned, please use the phone and dial “0“ for more information. |
