St. Clare Medical Center and Athens Medical Group
join forces to bring together the best in medical expertise and patient treatment
Crawfordsville – In an effort to further enhance the high-quality healthcare services and convenience provided to patients in the Montgomery-county area, St. Clare Medical Center and the Sisters of St. Francis Health Services have acquired Athens Medical Group, a team of 16 highly skilled physicians and 128 staff members, which includes five Nurse Practitioners.
“These are extraordinary times, requiring decisiveness and foresight to address the current economic and healthcare conditions,” said Jim Siemers, Executive Director of St. Clare Medical Center. “We are taking a wide-ranging set of prudent measures to ensure that St. Clare remains competitive in today’s challenging market while also emerging even stronger when the economy recovers.”

This agreement also should help St. Clare Medical Center better respond to our growing charity costs for those in the community who are unemployed or without adequate health insurance.”
